Get ready, Wolverines! School begins Monday, August 3, and this year promises to be something special! We begin the year with the start of football season and cheerleading tryouts, which will be held next week. Our first school activity, a Back To School Bowl-A-Thon, is also ready to go. The event, which will bring together El Dorado students, teachers, staff members, families and friends, will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, at AMF Lanes in Chandler. Our award-winning powerlifting club will soon be preparing for its next meet, and our drama club will be scheduling the release of El Dorado's first student-made film, "Paranormal Festivity!" All this excitement begins Monday - we can't wait to see you! Go Wolverines!
We had an excellent time at El Dorado's Summer Movie Night, featuring students, families, friends and special guests (Darth, Alice, R2, Stormtroopers, etc.)! Special thanks to our Student Council members and visiting food vendors Voodoo Dogs and Mustache Pretzels! It was a great way to get ready for the new school year, which arrives on Monday, August 3. Every Thursday is Spirit Day at El Dorado High School! Students, remember to wear your EDHS shirts and show your school pride! El Dorado High School will host Summer School courses from June 1 to June 19. This is a great opportunity to catch up on credits, or to work ahead towards graduation! Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Monday through Friday, and are open to EDHS students and students from other school districts. The El Dorado High School Powerlifting Team meets Wednesdays here on campus with Coach Hunzeker. Our next team meet, the NASA 2015 Arizona State Manno Classic, will be held on Saturday, May 2. There's still time to sign up! Go Wolverines!
